Antique MADONNA IN SORROW Oil Painting features a beautifully done copy of Giovanni Battista Salvi da Sassoferrato's original work.
Signed and dated CARLO SOLEL?( either L or T ) xxxx in ink on the bottom left of the Wood Framed back. There are other words as well, but I am unable to read the letters.
Measures 19 inches ( 48.2 cm ) wide by 26 inches ( 66 cm ) tall, including it's Black Enamelled & Gilded 1 3/4 inch ( 4.4 cm ) frame.
Condition is VERY GOOD for it's age, showing age related crazing on the painted surface and a bit of light pitting in places near the top and the bottom, but no noticeable paint loss except for minor light rubbing along the very edge where the Oil Painting meets the frame.
